How to choose a baby name?
The baby is on its way! Every decision concerning the nursery, the decorations, and the list of phone numbers to call have been decided upon. All but one minuscule detail remains: choosing the baby’s name! One small step, but a giant leap for the years to come as far as the child is concerned. Dear parents-to-be, let us browse through some points you may (or may not) have taken notice of while naming your little bundle of joy. Firstly, let’s keep the same simple. However impressive the name, Zebediah may seem, it’s going to be very hard for people (and child included) to pronounce, let alone, spell the name.
Sometimes, the best things in life are simple, then why should a baby name be any different to this rule? It is also important to remember that a common name is a sign that your child’s name is popular. Yes, there is no harm in showing that you worship The Doors front man, vocalist, lyricist, performer, poet and genius, James Douglas (Jim) Morrison. And so, in keeping your baby boy’s name James, it is a sign that you, like so many others, have a special place in your hearts for The Doors. And there is absolutely no shame in that, whatsoever! Bask in the glory, rather. Finally, the most important rule is to name them yourself. Yes, one can imagine, Aunt Sally likes ‘Diana’, Uncle Phillip likes ‘Will’ and great-Aunt Pauline likes ‘Catherine’… yes, be open to ideas (and often, boredom!), but it is a name your little one will have to deal with for the rest of his/her life… let him wear the name YOU choose, and let him wear it with pride. Remember, a rose by any other name smells as sweet… but your child’s name gifted by you sounds sweeter. Cheers. All kinds of baby names are available online – baby boy names and baby girl names. Do your research well! |
