For a pretty long time doctors and pharmacists have been using medical cannabis to treat patients suffering from traumatic pains and sufferings in various types of diseases. One of the synthetic forms of chemical marijuana is Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC that is used by many physicians all over the world. However, their use is controversial. Some of the organizations claim that cannabis seeds are ideal therapeutic drugs for cancer and such other major diseases where there is major loss due to nausea and results of chemotherapy.
A recent research has resulted in innovation of the fact that cannabidiol which is found in the weed seeds can prevent growth of cancer cells. However the FDA and the authorities have not yet approved the use of these seeds for medical use. Similarly, a synthetic version of the THC called Dronabinol can reduce agitation arising in the Alzheimer’s patients and HIV AIDS patients.
Perhaps the greatest use of the marijuana seeds can be seen in their use in treatment of Glaucoma. This is a disease where you can lose your eyesight gradually. Marijuana is used to reduce the intraocular pressure on the eyes. However, the effects do not last long and regular use of the seeds could cause systemic toxicity. Another drawback of the use of marijuana for such treatment could be decreased blood flow to the optic nerve.
