Safety Measures to Be Adopted While Cooking Barbecue Grilled Foods
Posted (Admin) on March-7-2008

Outdoors cooking has become an everyday affair with many Americans and British people. A party or festive occasion is just an excuse to have a grilled food rendezvous. But, it is essential to follow some safety guidelines while preparing grilled foodstuff.

Following are some safety guidelines for all bbq grill users.

  • Thaw The Food-Thawing the meat or poultry before a grilling session is a good idea as the food is cooked more evenly.
  • Clean Tools-If you are using charcoal towable grills, then see to it that they are absolutely clean and no residues of coal or dust remain in the grates or rods.
  • Avoid Partial Cooking-Thorough cooking of the food is necessary to destroy bacterial presence. Meat and poultry foods cooked on grills need to be cooked till they reach 160 °F. A grilled item should never be partially cooked and kept open for full cooking later on.
  • Smoker Temperature-If you are using a modern aluminum gas grill, then maintain the smoker temperature at around 260 to 300 °F for maximum safety.
  • No Kids and Pets-Bbq trailers are movable and therefore, they may be a great attraction for pesky kids to tow around. Keep children and pets from the grill area and let someone supervise the grill procedures constantly.
  • Avoid Indoor Use-Never use grills and trailers for indoor use, they are strictly meant for outdoor usage.

Hope you are benefited from the above safety tips and enjoy a great barbecue party.
